How wrong was I?

Oh Dear, I got that very wrong didn't I?

I thought my four months of Chemo were a complete regime, and once I had a scan to assess the results I wouldn't need any more, (at least for a while).

However, I saw the Oncologist (for all of 2 minutes) today and he had expected me to have had more Chemotherapy sessions booked. Upshot is that tomorrow morning I once again have to go to the Unit and be hooked up to the next dose of cytotoxic drugs. It means further battles with my blood sugar versus the steroids - deep joy!

At least there is some good news, Boris has shrunk by about 10%, although there were some concerns on the report (I managed to wrangle a copy). The apices of my lungs were not scanned and there seemed to be some animosity with the radiographers saying the request was handwritten and almost illegible! Surely they could have picked up the phone to check what was required. Mind you I said at the time I wasn't happy with the scan as it was so quick. I think the reporting is outsourced (Private company) It is typed by someone from Medica Ltd!!

Still at least the Chemo is working, unfortunately from next week they are starting major roadworks at the Hospital/Band Q roundabout and that is going to cause absolute CHAOS to everyone travelling into and through Newport. I know the Nursing staff are going to be affected and suspect we will be held up getting to appointments and blood tests.

I remember saying this could be the 'End of the Beginning' of therapy, but maybe more like the Beginning of the End (of Boris).
