Today was a good day..

Today was a good day as is usual the first day post Chemo so I try to get a s much done as possible. I went to both Lidl and Aldi to pick up some of their weekly special bargains, caught up with some long overdue e-mails to family and did a little online retail therapy.

The patients sharing the Chemo suite with me (and myself) were treated to a goody bag put together by the local charity Aspire who made the bag, some products from Tesco and a little card from a local Primary School. It was a lovely surprise, and actually contained many similar items to those I gave the Nurses a few weeks ago. There was a bottle of water, some tissues, a Lip salve, pack of Extra strong mints, Simple skin wipes, Hand gel and some Hand cream. What a lovely surprise and something I could benefit from when the usual treats handed round are just sweets and occasionally cakes baked by well meaning patients (neither of which I can have because of my diabetes).

They were surprised to see me yesterday, as like me they had been led to believe that after my scan the Chemo had finished, sadly as already stated that is not the case. However they still said how much they liked their pamper box and many of them were using their syringe shaped pens so I know they work, and the Unit Sister, Natasha, said she liked them as they produce fine writing.

Anyway, let's hope tomorrow will be another good day and I will get to go swimming again as have missed the past 2 weeks as didn't feel up to it last week, and on the 14th I need to stockpile some energy to go to the Car Extravaganza on the 15th.

See you and update you soon. xx
